SEE PROJECTAbout me
Samer Chalfoun | Forensic Aesthetician
Born in Lebanon, trained in Italy, living in the Netherlands for over 20 years. My life has been a crossing of borders geographic, intellectual, artistic. Identity, to me, is a mosaic fractured, fluid, shaped by history and the systems we move through.
At the Art Academy of Rome, I studied Caravaggio’s light, De Chirico’s mystery, Rembrandt’s emotion. Later, I was drawn to artists who stripped art to its core. Kosuth, LeWitt, Serra. Their influence led me to architecture, where I spent two decades shaping space as a form of storytelling.
But I had to return to drawing. Some things can’t be said in words. My art is an investigation—like solving a cold case. Each piece begins with a question and ends as evidence.
I draw to expose what’s hidden the myths we carry, the fractures we don’t see. But also for the quiet moments a sunlit table, the smell of garlic, the space between presence and absence.
Systems of Sincerity
More than an art portfolio. An investigation.
We live in an age of polished surfaces and ready-made truths. Systems of Sincerity exists to break through that. To challenge. To resist.
Art doesn’t just reflect the world it interrogates it. It refuses to flatten or simplify. It seeks depth, nuance, truth.
This is a place for those who still believe in looking deeper.
